Day 1

  • Travel to Saugatuck & enjoy lunch beside the waters of Lake Kalamazoo at The Butler.
  • Travel to Traverse City, Michigan & enjoy fine dining at Harrington’s By the Bay.
  • Lodging in Traverse City.

Day 2

  • Breakfast.
  • Guided tour of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Discover the lakeshore’s variety of landforms such as sand dune deserts, hardwood forests, cedar swamps & bogs of sphagnum moss and gigantic dunes overlooking Lake Michigan.
  • Free time in Traverse City
  • Travel to Mackinaw City & board a Shepler’s Ferry. View the Mackinac Bridge as you cross the straits to Mackinac Island.
  • Step back into the 19th century where  transportation is limited to horse & buggy, bicycle or foot. The Victorian atmosphere will enchant you from the moment you step off the dock. Horse drawn carriages will transport you to the world-famous Grand Hotel where we will check in for a 3-night stay. Relax on the large veranda that overlooks the Straits of Mackinac & formal gardens on the grounds.
  • Indulge in the formal dinner at the Grand Hotel. 

Day 3

  • Full breakfast at the Grand Hotel.
  • Discover the island on a narrated Island Carriage Tour.
  • Free time to get acquainted with Mackinac Island with a visit to Main Street or sign up and discover the beautiful Grand Hotel on one of the optional specialty tours (fee may apply). 
  • Indulge in the formal dinner at the Grand Hotel. 

Day 4

  • Full breakfast at the Grand Hotel.
  • Free morning to visit shops & sights of Mackinac Island or take an optional Grand Hotel tour (fee may apply)
  • Free time to take in the sights & sounds of the Lilac Festival: listen to fife & drum quartets, see decorated storefronts, & enjoy the charming, afternoon Lilac Festival Parade from your complimentary canvas chair.
  • Indulge in the formal dinner at the Grand Hotel. 

Day 5

  • Full breakfast at the Grand Hotel.
  • Return to the mainland aboard Shepler’s Ferry.
  • Scenic travel through Michigan.
  • Check in to Hyatt Place Hotel in Wyoming, MI
  • Dinner in Grand Rapids. 

Day 6 

  • Full breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids
  • Narrated tram tour of Frederik Meijer Gardens &  Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids with free time to explore the exhibits and gift shop.
  • Lunch at Taste of the Gardens Cafe at the gardens.
  • Return home.
