Day 1  

The fun begins with lunch at Martells Restaurant in Kalmazoo. Willkommen to Frankenmuth, MI! Founded in 1845 by a group of German Lutheran missionaries, Frankenmuth is a thriving community that takes pride in preserving its German heritage. As you pass through the village, notice well tended flowers, lush greenery, authentic Bavarian architecture, giving it the name, “Michigan’s Little Bavaria.” Check in to the Bavarian Lodge for a two night stay.  The inn is a treasure in the heart of downtown Frankenmuth & Michigan's #1 tourist attraction. Nestled on the banks of the beautiful Cass River, the Lodge is a world class getaway destination. German Dinner with all the trimmings at the Bavarian Inn with German entertainment.

Day 2

Full breakfast at the hotel. A local guide in Bavarian costume showcases Frankenmuth. See St. Lorenz Church built in 1880; the Maypole that identifies traditions & crafts found in German villages, and a replica of a 19th century covered bridge. Learn the art of Strudel making at the Bavarian Inn & discover German wines at the wine tasting. Free time in downtown Frankenmuth or Riverplace. Both areas feature shops, eateries & attractions amidst charming Bavarian architecture. See the Glockenspiel performance. Scenic cruise on the Bavarian Belle along the Cass River. Visit Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, the world's largest Christmas store, with 5 acres under one roof! Make your selections from over 50,000 trims & gifts from around the world. Spend a few moments at the Silent Night Chapel which tells the origin of this beloved Christmas carol. Time for Frankenmuth's annual Oktoberfest! Celebrate with German food, German dancing, listen to the live band playing German music & of course, plenty of beer. Dinner, entertainment & beer all included! View the night lights at Bronner's outdoor Christmas light display.

Day 3

Full breakfast at the lodge. Self-guided tour of the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield  Village with hundreds of thousands of artifacts that tell a tale about America’s passion for innovation. See vast collections of everything from transportation to house hold furnishings. Special exhibits feature: the rocking chair Lincoln was seated in on that fateful night at Ford’s Theater, Wright Flyer Replica, George Washington’s Camp Bed, the limousine President Kennedy rode in when assassinated in Dallas and the newest exhibit “Driving   America.” At Greenfield Village see historical buildings representing the entrepreneurs that changed our  lives. From the invention of the light bulb in Thomas Edison’s Menlo Park laboratory and the birthplace of flight at the home & workshop of the Wright brothers to the court house where Abraham Lincoln first  practiced law. Check into the Hilton Garden Inn for a one night stay, Novi Michgian. Enjoy a 7 course Dinner & Show at Genetti's Hole in the Wall Restaurant & Theater in Northville, MI.

Day 4

Full breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Honolulu House which is a fine example of Italianate architecture and built in 1860. Unique for its wall and ceiling murals, it is listed in the National Register of Historic Places in Marshall, Michigan. Lunch at Schuler's Restaurant, Marshall, Michigan.

Greenfield Village & the Henry Ford Museum stand as monuments to America’s exceptionalism with unequaled collections of artifacts from the history of the United States. This indoor-outdoor complex is one of the premier museums in our country. The Henry Ford Museum (indoor) has vast collections of everything from transportation to household furnishings to iconic artifacts from America’s cultural landscape. Perhaps you may want to take a train, antique car, and/or horse drawn carriage ride around the village.
