Day 1

Regularly scheduled flight to Charleston, South Carolina. Arrive at Mills House Wyndham Grand Hotel for 3 nights. Sit back as the grace & dignity of Charleston comes alive on a carriage tour through one of the best preserved, grandest historic districts of any city in the country. View the southern charm of Charleston in its beautiful homes, historic shrines, old churches, lovely gardens, winding streets, and intricate iron lace gateways. Dinner in Charleston.

Day 2

Breakfast at hotel. Cruise through Charleston’s historic harbor to Fort Sumter. Learn about the major events which led to the outbreak of America’s Civil War on this fully narrated tour with time to explore the fort & museum. Visit the Charleston Tea Company for the Field & Factory Tour and shop the Tea Store. Dinner in Charleston.

Day 3

Breakfast at hotel. Guided tour of Drayton Hall Plantation ca 1738. This Georgian Palladian House is in its original condition surrounded by beautiful live oaks. Visit Magnolia Plantation & Gardens ca 1676 - oldest public gardens in America. Tour home, ride the tram to view blooming flowers & wetlands & enjoy box lunch. Free time during the late afternoon & evening exploring the charms of the Charleston Historic Market District.

Day 4

Breakfast at hotel. Guided tour of Beaufort, SC - haven to beautifully preserved antebellum homes. Visit Parris Island Marine Base where 20,000 men and 2,000 women complete training each year. Enjoy free time for lunch & shopping in Beaufort. Arrive on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and check in to the lovely Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort on the island for 2 nights. Dinner at the resort.

Day 5

Breakfast at the resort. Dolphin Watching Ocean Cruise. Free time in Harbor Town. Free time to stroll the ocean beach and enjoy resort.

Day 6

Full breakfast at hotel. Tram tour of Jekyll Island and lunch at historic Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Check in to the DoubleTree Savannah Historic District for a 2-night stay.  Free evening.

Day 7

Full breakfast at resort. Savannah guided tour revealing the charm, dignity & sultry mystery of this carefully planned city & her wealth of history & architecture beautified by lush city parks, squares and fountains. Tour the Davenport House Museum. Free time at Savannah’s Riverfront. Dinner in Savannah.

Day 8 

Full breakfast and flight home.

American Classic Tours is based out of Chicago and many of our travelers are from the greater Chicagoland Area. All of our tours begin at one of Chicago’s airports. If you are from out of state, you can join us via a “land-only” tour package. A “land-only” tour is the exact same as our “all-inclusive” tour except it does not include airfare. Your tour director will meet you at your destination airport and lead you to meet the rest of the group on the first day of the tour.
