Day 1

Flight to Boston. Welcome to the beautiful state of Maine! Visit Stonewall Kitchen’s flagship store in York to shop the wide array of Maine specialties including wild Maine blueberry jam. Arrive at the Westin Portland Harborview located downtown for a 2-night stay. Dinner.

Day 2

Breakfast. Begin the day with a guided tour of Portland, Maine including a visit to the famous Portland Headlight Lighthouse. It was first lit on January 10, 1791 to warn Portland citizens of coming British attacks. Free time in Freeport, Maine, home of L.L. Bean’s flagship store. Explore the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray, Maine to see more than 30 different species of Maine wildlife including moose, bald eagle and black bear. Dinner in Portland.

Day 3

Breakfast. Visit the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Maine to learn about Maine’s maritime heritage. Free time for lunch & shopping in Boothbay Harbor. Enjoy a cruise along the Atlantic Ocean Coastline. Keep an eye out for seals, bald eagles and osprey. Arrive at the Hampton Inn, Bath for a 1-night stay. Dinner.

Day 4

Breakfast. Enjoy scenic fall foliage travel through the New England countryside of Maine. Visit the charming seaside village of Camden. Arrive at the Bar Harbor Regency located on the bay in Bar Harbor for a 2-night stay. Dinner is a Maine tradition - a fresh Lobster Bake.

Day 5

Breakfast. Explore Acadia National Park vibrant with fall colors on a guided tour. Marvel at the view atop Cadillac Mountain overlooking the ocean and islands below. Free time for lunch & shopping in the village of Bar Harbor. Take a narrated cruise of the Atlantic coastline to see the islands of Frenchman’s Bay and view wildlife. Dinner.

Day 6

Breakfast. Scenic autumn travel to Kennebunkport, Maine with a drive by Walker Point, oceanside summer compound of President George H.W. Bush & First Lady Barbara Bush. Enjoy a Clam & Lobster Bake lunch at Foster’s in York. Visit historic Portsmouth, New Hampshire with free time to explore this charming colonial city. Arrive at the Sheraton Portsmouth, located in the heart of the city, for a 1-night stay.

Day 7

Breakfast. Guided tour along Boston’s Freedom Trail. Free time at Quincy Market. Flight home.

American Classic Tours is based out of Chicago. Because many of our travelers are from the greater Chicagoland Area, all of our tours begin at one of Chicago’s airports. If you are from out of state or country, you can join us via a “land-only” tour package. A “land-only” tour is the exact same as our “all-inclusive” tour except it does not include airfare. Your tour director will meet you at your destination and lead you to meet the rest of the group on the first day of the tour.
